Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please contribute as much or as little as you can.. Sadly my friends mum died from the disease 8 years ago and her older sister has been living with MS since she was diagnosed at 19, even though MS has never been scientifically proven to be hereditary. I am trying to raise money to donate to this charity for my friend Ali Napthine. All donations well help research with a hope of finding more effective treatments, and ultimately a cure. Our Itinerary:DAY 1: Overnight flight London – KilimanjaroDAY 2: Arrive Kilimanjaro. Transfer to our hotel close to the park entrance.DAY 3: Trek from Marangu through dense forest, surrounded by beautiful wild flowers, to Mandara Hut. (2744m). 4 hoursDAY 4: Uphill trail to Horombo Hut. More rugged and rocky terrain today as we reach cloud level. (3761m). 7-8 hoursDAY 5: Acclimatisation day so your body gets used to the altitude. Spectacular views. Overnight back at Horombo Hut. (4200m). 5 hoursDAY 6: Surrounded by mountain flora and fauna in the morning. Enter the desert zone after lunch. Slow going today due to the altitude. Overnight at Kibo Hut. (4732m). 7-8 hoursDAY 7: A half day trek to get used to the high altitude. Time to rest before summit day. (5000m). 5 hoursDAY 8: Start just after midnight on a slow steep ascent to Gilman’s Point. (5685m). Watch the stunning sunrise and congratulate ourselves on climbing Kilimanjaro! 15-17 hoursDAY 9: Descend to Marangu Park Gate. 6-7 hoursDonating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.
